Nine West: A Mobile Commerce Experience worth Repeating

  | Share on Twitter Twitter | Share on Facebook Facebook |  Share on LinkedIn LinkedIn

Nothing better accessorizes an outfit quite like a dazzling pair of Nine West shoes. And now with Nine West’s mobile storefront, it’s super simple to keep up with the hottest trends and latest looks of the season. Nine West, a division of Jones Apparel Group, has launched a new mobile storefront, ensuring you never have to be stuck wearing fashion that’s “so last season.”

Nine West Mobile Commerce ShopNine West, No. 219 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, used Demandware eCommerce to launch a feature-rich mobile commerce site. It allows customers quick, easy access to the complete catalog of products found on the Nine West ecommerce site from their mobile device. The site provides many features such as the ability to purchase, search, access ka Nine Loves account, signup for email alerts, communicate with customer service and locate Nine West retail stores.

The Nine West mobile commerce site, NineWest.com/mobile, met my on-the-go shopping needs. In my first experience, I was able to:

  • Quickly get on the site – The moment I typed in the address to my blackberry browser, it took no time at all for the site to fully load and provide me with a variety of features.
  • Find exactly what I was looking for in no time – The main page broke the products down into specific categories (shoes, handbags, accessories, etc.), so I was able to limit my selection to what I was interested in. Once I chose shoes, the search got even more precise and a list of different shoe styles were provided (pumps, flats, wedges, etc.). When I picked the style I was looking for, the site displayed a well organized assortment of shoes. Rather than have me search through hundreds of shoes to find what I wanted, the site was able to distinguish my preference and provide me with a distinct selection.
  • Customize my shoe – Once I picked out the shoe I desired, a large, clear image of it appeared. At this stage, the site provided useful details of the shoe (height of heel, type of sole, date shipped by). I was able to choose the color I wanted, my size, and even the width of the shoe.
  • Checkout – When an item has been chosen, the site allows the customer to either check out or continue shopping. Checkout is very simple and customers can use their existing accounts to make it even easier and have access to other great features such as creating a wish list. By using an existing account, I was able to avoid entering my billing and shipping information, making the process that much quicker.

In just minutes, I was able to make a purchase from my cell phone without any trouble at all. At no point in time did I hesitate to buy an item on the mobile site due to lack of product details or clear images.Thank you to Nine West for providing me and other customers with a great mobile shopping experience.

Nine West and Fluid Take Commerce Social On Facebook

  | Share on Twitter Twitter | Share on Facebook Facebook |  Share on LinkedIn LinkedIn

By Jamus Driscoll

Every once in a while (okay, great long while) something lands in your inbox that makes you, well, smile. Such it was today when Google kicked me an alert about an article that ran today in Clickz on the mashup between Facebook and NineWest. Using a slick product by Demandware partner Fluid, the Nine West facebook app pushes/pulls content from their ecommerce site, and promotes it as a "Lookbook" to loyal fans. Fans can browse new looks and add to bag, all within FB. Really cool. Social commerce.

According to Clickz, "The initiative comes on the heels of Jones Apparel brand Rachel Roy's successful one-day test on Feb. 9. The fashion designer brand offered a slew of Facebook-exclusive, limited-edition products that sold out in roughly six hours [my emphasis added]. During the 24-hour period, Rachel Roy increased its Facebook numbers by 38 percent - from around 8,800 "fans" to more than 12,100."

What's particularly great about this from our perspective is that Jones Apparel Group (parent company to Nine West) and Fluid were able to do all of this themselves, no back'ing and forth'ing between the platform, the vendor and the customers. The power was totally in their hands...and as a result, a totally cool surprise just landed in my inbox.

Congratulations to Jones and Fluid! You made my day.

Demandware Clients in the News...

  | Share on Twitter Twitter | Share on Facebook Facebook |  Share on LinkedIn LinkedIn

By Jamus Driscoll, Demandware Marketing

Three of our clients made the headlines this week and I wanted to pass along a brief digest as well as congratulate Jones Apparel Group, Gardener's Supply Company and Compact Appliance on their achievements.

Nine West and Gardener's Supply Company made Internet Retailer's 2009 Hot 100 Retail Websites list. The Nine West site launched on the Demandware eCommerce Platform back in September, one of several Jones Apparel Group sites now running on Demandware. The site includes video commentary from Nine West creative director Fred Allard, Look Book, which guides you through the purchase of a complete outfit, As Seen In, which helps you find the latest styles you may have seen in a magazine, Behind the Scenes videos, and much more.

Gardener's Supply has been running on Demandware for almost three years now and we continue to be impressed at the creativity and innovation that goes into this site. Along with its sister site, Dutch Gardens, they continually lead the pack with sophisticated features such as community building, contextual selling and guided navigation.

No wonder both Nine West and Gardener's Supply Company made the Hot 100 List.

Compact Appliance was featured in Internet Retailer with an article about how it is able to launch microsites quickly, using just one standard catalog. Compact Appliance now runs 4 sites on Demandware, including the most recent Kegerator.com, the destination site for beer enthusiasts. Compact Appliance expects to finish out the year with web sales up by 25% or higher.
